Visit to the Fort Worth NAS JRB

I had the exciting privilege to visit the Fort Worth military base! It was such an honor to meet so many incredible Marines and get to tour the base.  Several marines showed me some of the different planes and vehicles they had on base and learned many of the capabilities of this equipment. It was such an exciting and interesting day.  Thank you so much to Jacob Newman for inviting me and setting the day up. Below are a few of the pics from the day:

Healthy Kids Day

Saturday April 27th I participated in the Fort Worth YMCA Healthy Kids Day.  I have been involved with this event for many years now and was so excited to be apart of it again this year, but this time in the great city of Fort Worth.

This year, the Fort Worth YMCA decided to do a city wide Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA Camp Carter. This was such a beautiful camp ground and luckily we had great weather since we were outside.

I had a booth set up right in the main area of the event.  I was handing out my activity books and fruit shaped silly bands (to remind kids when they wear them to "eat lots of fruit").  I was able to speak to so many families about how to help their entire family start eating healthy and ways to get each family member more active.

This event has truly been one of my favorite events to be at.  There are so many kids and families that attend and it is such a fun event that shares the same focus of my platform, getting kids active a healthy!

Life After School

Wow, life has been crazy since I finished school! I have had so many fun appearances and events the past few weeks.

The weekend before I graduated I took a weekend off to go celebrate one of my close friend's, Jennifer Peter, graduation from UTSA. It had been a while since we had seen each other and seemed like a great opportunity to make the trip down to S.A. to congratulate her.

May 18th I graduated with my MBA and M.A. from SMU.  Because of construction on campus, all of the graduation ceremonies were held outside, a very HOT day! It was such an exciting day to be able to share with friends and family. The next day my parents put on a small graduation lunch for me to celebrate with family and a few close friends.

Since then I have been busy with the Crowne Plaza Golf Tournament at Colonial, the Pre-Memorial Day Show at the Dallas VA, and getting ready for the Miss Texas competition coming up!
